You don’t need an account to use SMB SEO, and we only ask for your name or email address if you ask us to introduce you to agencies. This page lists what we do record and why.
SMB SEO is run by SMB Sites, LLC, a company in the United States. For any question or request about your data, email company.reviews.marketing@gmail.com.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It records the pages you view and what you do on them, such as scrolling down or starting a search, along with the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. Google uses your IP address to work out the location and doesn’t log or store it (Google).
It sets two cookies on this site: _ga, which tells one visitor from another, and _ga_JPMWENT00Z, which keeps track of a visit (Google’s list).
Google’s advertising features are off on this site. We don’t use Google Analytics for ads, remarketing or ad personalization.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, or Google can’t tell where you are, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you allow them. When your device’s time zone is in Europe, a banner asks you. Until you say yes, your browser only tells Google that a page was viewed, without a cookie, so your visits can’t be linked to each other.
Wherever you are, the Cookie settings button at the bottom of every page turns Analytics cookies on or off. Choosing No thanks also deletes the Analytics cookies already on your device. We keep your choice in your browser’s storage on this device: a yes for six months, and a no until you change it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no.
If you search this site, the words you search for become part of the page address, so Google Analytics records them with that page view.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services. To stop Google Analytics on every site you visit, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser’s settings.
Your shortlist
The Compare button keeps the tools you pick in your browser’s storage on this device, so your shortlist follows you from page to page. It isn’t sent to us or anyone else, and Clear removes it. A link to a shortlist lists its tools in the page address, so Google Analytics records them with that page view, as it does a search.
Clicks to vendors
Links to a vendor’s site go through a short address on our site that starts with /go/. We record which tool you clicked, the page you clicked it on and the time. That record holds no IP address, browser details or cookie.
Some of those links are affiliate links. The vendor or its affiliate network may set its own cookie when you arrive, so it can credit us if you buy. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.
Requests to agencies
If you ask us to introduce you to SEO agencies on our request form, we keep what you tell us: what you run, what you need, your budget, your country (and state in the US), your name, your email address and, if you give it, your phone number. We also keep the agencies we matched you with, the exact wording of the boxes you ticked and when you sent it. We don’t record your IP address or browser details with it.
We send your request only to the agencies named on the form, up to three, and only after you tick the box to send it. They may call or text you only if you gave a phone number and ticked the box saying so. Once they have it, their privacy policies apply to what they do with it.
Requests are stored in a database in our hosting account, and we delete each one 365 days after it’s sent. To have yours deleted sooner, or to see what we hold, email company.reviews.marketing@gmail.com from the address you used.
Our host
The site runs on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and keep the service secure, and keeps request logs for a limited time (Vercel’s privacy policy).
We don’t collect email addresses for a newsletter yet. Before a newsletter signup appears on the site, this page will say which service sends it and what it records.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell personal information or use it for advertising.
