App store ratings, week by week
Every week we read the rating and number of ratings on the store listing of each Shopify app and WordPress plugin we list. Counts can fall as well as rise: in July 2026 Shopify started unpublishing reviews it doesn’t trust.

How we record
- Every Monday a scheduled job reads each Shopify App Store and WordPress.org listing linked from our tool pages: the rating, the number of ratings, the Built for Shopify badge and, for WordPress plugins, active installs.
- The numbers are what each store showed that day. We don’t round, correct or edit them, and a tool’s own page keeps the rating an editor last checked.
- Ratings are out of 5 stars. WordPress.org shows active installs rounded down.
- On July 6, 2026, Shopify said that “a meaningful number of reviews that don’t meet our authenticity bar will be unpublished over the coming weeks”, checked Oct 7, 2026. So a count can fall when the store removes reviews.
- The download has every row we’ve recorded for these listings, one per listing per week.
